Each year, Killeen ISD families play an important role in securing federal funds that directly support our students and schools. These funds come through the Federal Impact Aid program, which provides critical resources to districts like ours with federally-connected students.
In recent years, the number of federally-connected students in KISD has declined. District leaders expect this change to result in a loss of up to $31 million in Impact Aid funds over the next four years. After ‘hold harmless’ payments are exhausted, the district could lose $50 million annually.
But even with this reduction in funding, KISD still receives Impact Aid dollars.
That is why completing the annual Impact Aid Parent-Pupil Survey is more important than ever.
If you are federally-connected OR a civilian working on Fort Hood or another federal property (like the VA in Temple), your participation counts!
Every returned form increases the accuracy of our count and directly impacts the level of funding KISD receives.
A paper copy of the survey will be sent home with your student on Monday, September 29, 2025. Please review, sign, and return it as soon as possible. By completing the form, families help ensure that KISD receives every dollar it is eligible for.

Thank you for doing your part to support Killeen ISD by taking part in this process. Together, we can make sure KISD schools receive the funding our students deserve.
